President Joe Biden is expected to use his final meeting with China’s leader, Xi Jinping, to urge him to dissuade North Korea from further deepening its support for Russia’s war on Ukraine.

The president said stronger ties with South Korea and Japan are working, but did not address whether President-elect Donald J. Trump would continue his approach when he takes office in January.

President Biden met with South Korea's president and Japan's new prime minister at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit. He said cooperation with the allies is integral to countering North Korea and Russia's cooperation.
