Jofra Archer and Mark Wood are not on the shortlist for the 2025 Indian Premier League auction as England look to carefully manage their workload for what shapes as a crucial year for the Test team.

There could be two reasons for Archer’s absence from the mega auction. Either none of the 10 franchises showed interest in Archer when submitting their list to the BCCI, or the ECB withdrew him from IPL 2025 to manage his workload.

The BCCI has announced the final list of 574 players who are all set to go under the hammer for the IPL 2025 mega auction. The players were filtered out from a total of registered players of 1574 to 574 for the auction.

England fast bowler Jofra Archer is not shortlisted for the Indian Premier League auction for 2025 but James Anderson is included.

Jofra Archer was part of Mumbai Indians for IPL 2022 and IPL 2023 but was released by the franchise later. He has not been named in the final list of players shortlisted by the IPL Governing Council for the 2025 mega auctions.

Mumbai Indians had bought Archer at the 2022 mega auction for Rs 8 crore and after being entirely absent in the first season, he played just four matches in 2023 season before heading home after a recurrence of the elbow injury.

A total of 574 players are set to be featured in the IPL 2025 mega auction on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Out of those, 366 are Indians and 208 overseas, including three from Associate teams.
