WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump’s choice of Matt Gaetz to be attorney general has many Justice Department employees reeling, worried not only about their own jobs but the future of the agency that the Trump loyalist has railed against.

Now the court’s opinion gives him a blank check for a second term. He would be largely free to pursue his enemies using the powers of federal investigators and prosecutors. At campaign rallies and social media posts, Trump threatened to go after his political foes if he returned to the White House.
